Finding Your Tribe

Have you ever felt like you were born into the wrong family, like you landed on the wrong planet, or maybe you identify with another era more than today? This is very common and it can be so painful. You might find yourself frequently ‘shoulding’ on yourself or feeling wrong, bad, ‘less than’, often misunderstood. In order to keep the peace or to avoid conflict you go along with the status quo, especially when it comes to family, but eventually if you do not start taking care of yourself and being true to your soul purpose by setting boundaries and changing patterns, you will either implode or explode. You will continue the negative pattern with your own children and will stray farther from the path of spiritual growth and discovery that is intended for you.

A wise friend suggested today that I stop asking “Why?” and simply love. Love myself, love my higher power, love another.tribe This time of year can be very stressful. We might feel especially lonely or we may be increasingly stressed out by demands we put on ourselves or in trying to please others to produce a Norman Rockwell holiday. What if we let go of the ‘shoulds’, stopped doing things out of obligation, and simply focused on love? I believe as we create this new pattern and break away from the cycle of familial expectation and trying to fit into an outdated mold, we will begin to reconnect with our tribe. You know – YOUR TRIBE! I am talking about those people you instantly feel connected with; those faces who KNOW YOU with the first look; the family that you may not have been born into in this lifetime but you are CREATING NOW. When you meet your tribesmen and tribeswomen you will know it. If your heart is open and you are focusing on the love, you will attract them to you and that new connection will remind you of where you came from and where you are meant to go.

Go with peace and be in the solution. Namaste.
